2000 dodge intrepid blowing brake fuses ,no brake lights? worked one day gone the next nothing! Changed the brake switch at the brake pedal then relised the fuses were blowing!? whay how what where HELP? No bares wires shorting out that I can visually see checked all areas posiible ? Any suggestions,does anyone know if there is a break relay or sensor in a intrepid? thanks for the help and suggestions in advance!

A fuse is a circuit protection device for high current. High current is caused by excessive load or a short ciruit. you say you checked the wires? all the way from the switch to the tail lights? you pulled up the carpet, removed sill trim and rear seat?

Why did you just throw a switch at it? seems your problem is after the switch. when you hit the brakes the fuse blow./.. correct?

I had the same problem. The wires going to the center stop light bent as they enter trunk lid. Disconnect negative battery cable, cut the wires at least a few centimeters before the bent and separate individual cables. Connect the battery, replace the blown fuse and press stop. If the tail stop light are working you have found your problem. Some simple rewiring should do the trick, but do not attach the new wires to the plastic mount, just let them hung there. Good luck.
