Default Should I get new tires or just wait

I got my 2002 Intrepid ES last year and it unfortunately came with these lousy Prime Well tires by GITI (a Chinese company). These things are very noisy, they aren't the best in snow or rain, and all around annoy me. Being that I'm a cheap skate (and proud of it for that matter), I don't want to replace anything that isn't technically in need of replacement. My question is should I replace these anyway for a reason of safety (as in are they prone to blow out).

If so, I've been thinking about the replacement options. On my 97 Intrepid, I had a set on Goodyear Eagle GTII which I loved, they did well in snow, rain, and lasted very well (I put almost 80K before they needed to be replaced). They unfortunately don't sell those under that label anymore but under the unnecessary NASCAR label (which means nothing to me as I'm not into NASCAR) which causes the price to go up. I have also heard of the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max which being a low rolling resistance tire tends to get better fuel economy but won't last as long, but less expensive as well. My question is which would you go with considering the market conditions or do you have a better one to recommend (as long as it is an American brand)?

low rolling rest tires aways seem to be crap in snow cuz the tread is so straght. i got together a brand new set of goodyears from finding full size spares in the high end gen1 cars. nubbys on them and all plus the cool looking black steel wheels like the cops cars had. kinda stelths out the car specially on black ones and really sets off the cars that are brite red.
