cruise control issues

i have an 04 intrepid w/ a 2.7, when i turn on the cruise control it only works for half a second, then shuts itself off. havent looked beyond possibly a bad relay, any ideas???

I have had this problem for the last six months. I have checked the module, relays, vacuum and all connections. The only thing left, I believe, is in the PCM itself. If you find a solution, please post.
