My friend did something horrible to her engine and so i shopped for long blocks for her, and come to find there is an 03 in the same color with 98K for 2000 bucks. Long block with warranty is about 2500. If she buys the used intrepid instead of a new motor are all the parts more or less the same? Tranny in particular. I have not got to examine the vehicle yet so I'm really not sure whats up with it but her mechanic wants 1800 for a motor, and a few hundred to install it with a 30 day warranty so i told her to get that thing outta there for now.
Any suggestions?

 

If the same size engine is in both (i.e 2.7 or 3.5) they should be a easy swap. I just did a swap last summer , put a 2.7 out of a 2003 into my 2001. If you have a digital camera take pictures before you remove, sometime a picture is worth.....well you get the picture. Good luck.
