Default 2001 dodge intrepid Starting issues

Hello,
My wife and I have a 2001 dodge intrepid. As of late the car has decided that it doesn't want to start anymore. We have replaced the battery with a brand new one. I have tested the Alt and is shows that it is charging the battery.

Basicly to start the car we have to jump start it everytime, and if we shut the car off we have to jump start it again to get it running. The check engine light has been on as long as we have own the car only going off for a few minutes after the battery is disconnected and reconnected. Since the time of purchase the car would lose battery charge after setting for a week, then about a year ago it went down to a couple of days but after jumping and driving it would stay charged, now it is down to instantly losing battery charge. Like i said we can jump start the car and it will start run and idle but immediately after shutting it off the car will not start up again.

Any idea's?

Could be a bad cable to the bat or a bad ground.
