There was a guy on another board with a 3.2L turbo'd Intrepid. It ran mid 14's or something in the quarter. Hardly seems worth the expense. IMO

it isn't really worth the money to do that to an intrepid. don't forget it is still a family sedan. but a turbo intrepid would be cool because it would be so unique.

These cars with the 2.7L don't have much of a computer to work with, so that would be a major problem with the fuel maps and O2 sensors. If you know someone with a bandsaw, welder, drill press, and extra $$$. You can fabricate your own headers to accomadate a turbo. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob.../products.html
If in the metro detroit area, look for livernois motorsports and they'll be able to tune your computer to the best of its abbility. You need to splice a vacuum line for the waste gate and blow off valve. The extreme heat of the turbo is also a factor on why the turbo is so inefficient.

A turbo charger only changes the torque curve. The maximum limit to how much boost you can have is the speed of sound. The air can not be jammed into the chamber and combusted at a rater faster than the speed of sound. You will reach this with a normally aspirated 2.7L at 8,000 RPM with a factory plenum. Since the redline and the maximum usable rpm is so close, there would be minimal top end effecieny for a turbo. Yes, it will help acceleration greatly, but with lack of room for an intercooler, the heat and pressure cancel out any positive gains.
