what is M8 suppose to mean?
how much does it cost?, depends on the shop. For people I like I'd do it for free. it takes like 10 sec to do. You can probably rent a fuel pressure gauge from autozone for free. the 2.7 is a PIECE of S.
PEACE out!

A pressure tester costs about $15 if you buy one from a store and is very easy to preform. To do it correcty you also need a vaccum pump and gauge... another 20 bucks for it but a well spent investment!
for known preformance responses... It's in the book!
There are many ways to go, but I'd start with the basic fuel, fire and air. Then determine which basic is at fault and then isolate the malfunction in that system.
Ah, I didn't know that about the 2.7! As for the codes, that's not always true. If a sensor is just misreporting the data, the computer d/n flag it eg when the map gets stuck at a value, it will not trip a code, but if you unplug it, it will set a code and go into limp in mode. I have seen this with many map sensors
actually on obd1 sensors that were in range but didn't move usually didn't set a code. but with obd2 if the sensor doesn't react appropriately, it will set a code. for example if a map sensor tells pcm it's at 17"hg and the pcm sees the tps go wot, it's going to expect the map to change. if it didn't a code will be set.
but still the ONLY way to really diagnose any problems is with a quality scanner that shows data values and allows functional testing.
