why should we drop everything and run to your aid? seems awfully demanding.

you already got the answer from the mechanic. now either have them fix it or buy yourself $100+ in special tools to do it yourself.

start by checking the power steering pump. if that's ok, then check the catalytic converter, if that's ok, check the cv joints, if that's ok check the sway bar links, check the a/c compressor, check the alternator, check the tensioner pulleys for the belts, check the subframe mounts, check the wheel bearings, check ball joints, check tie rods, check engine.

it's pretty hard to determine this rattling noise since you're the only one that has the ability to hear it via the internet. you need to determine the kind of rattle, were it seems to be coming from, if it's dependent on road conditions, road speed, engine speed, engine load etc etc etc.

theres about 100+ things it could be. you already have 2 experts give you 2 different things, so confirm or negate those 2 items and then move on to the next thing. maybe you have a rock in the dash, maybe you have a heat shield rattling, could be a loose nut (behind the wheel). a random statement you have a rattle at 10-20mph from the driver side allows for 100's and I mean literally 100's of things that could be the cause.

you need to have someone else physically hear, see, feel this rattle that has mechanical aptitude for proper NVH (noise, vibration, harness) diagnostic skills.

I had an irate customer with a rattle on their brand new car. well after diagnosis of the rattle, I had to remove the door panel where I found 2 pennies. apparently their kids put them there. I had to charge the customer as this was a self induced rattle not covered under warranty.
