Default 2000 Intrepid tranny problem

My wife let her daughter use her 2000 Intrepid for about a year. When we got it back the daughter said that the tranny was stuck in second gear. Limp home mode? From what I have read this could be as simple as changing a couple of sensors. Does this sound plausible?

I have also been reading about the sludge problem with the 2.7 engine. Is there any way that I can do an effective engine flush myself? What medium would I use? How often?

Thanks,

Ernie

Default RE: How to safely flush your 2.7 engine.

Do not flush your engine. That will only cause more problems by dislodging chunks of sludge and deposits and clogging oil passage ways. Type auto rx and it will take you to your solution lol. Auto rx is a solution that slowly dissolves sludge overtime so it works as you drive. Those deposits get put into your oil filter and works great, just look at the photos and testimonials. I'm using it myself but I got the 3.5; either-way its always better to run a clean engine. It'll last longer and you'll save money on repairs.
