2.7 knock sensor replacement
My moms intrepid is getting the knock sensor code. we just did the heads and then the code came on after a few hundred miles.
We dont want to pull the head again to get the damn sensor off. are there any tricks to get it to work or bypass the sensor?
Can you just hook up a new sensor and let it sit in the gully with the old one still in the block?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just tore down my 2.7 and when I saw the location of the knock sensor, I wanted to punch that damn engineer in the teeth. Every part of this engine is crap. I hope the designers rot in hell and have to fix every one for all eternity. I suppose you could just let one hang off the wire connector at the back of the engine. Obviously it wouldn't do anything of value and you could run into a detonation issue.
Yeah the 2.7 is absolute JUNK
We just did the water pump, timing chain,heads..... because of the ****ty design. There are a few injectors that look bad so we are going to replace them also. Could they be the reason we are getting a knock sensor code?

OK, I just got done doing the knock sensor for a 2008 2.7L Dodge charger thats located on the passenger head underneath intake manifold. I thought i was going to have to take the head off but I didn't. I took of the thermostat housing and the long pipe that goes between the two heads. Then i was able to get a small ratchet with a 13mm in there. Slowly but surly i got it.
