I have an '03 Intrepid SE with 80K miles. In the morning when the engine is cool it hesitates and won't go more then about 20 mph. If I shift to neutral and shut off and restart the engine it runs great. It will throw a P0300 random misfire code, that will clear after a few miles of highway driving. I changed the spark plugs, which gapped and looked fine. If engine is warm it starts and runs great with no hesitation. I need advice on where to look next. It seems electrical since it clears on a quick restart. I dont want to blow $250 on a PCM if its a simple sensor.

 

Check for Sludge in the engine...
