2001 Intrepid A/C clutch won't engage (Error P0645)
Hi all,
With the extreme heat these days in Maryland my A/C stopped working yesterday. I checked the error codes and got this P 645. Looking it up online got no exact solution, and found this description about the problem:
A/C Clutch Relay Circuit: An open or shorted condition detected in the A/C clutch
relay control circuit.
Cycling the A/C switch on and off has no effect. The clutch does not engage at all since I can see the compressor not rotating. I did a quick checked for loss wires but all seems ok, or that what i think.
So any help on where to start looking? what could be the cause?
Update: I have also checked the clutch relay, the relay is fine, but it does not click when i turn on the A/C.

check the pin terminals for the relay in the power distribution center, make sure they aren't damaged or loose, that's more than likely your problem. Try also wiggling around the relay. If the compressor kicks on, your problem is a bad connection.
