New to Intrepid. Cooling leak? extra condensation out exhaust.
Hi I am new to owning an Intrepid/2.7 I have already installed stop block for the timing change. Here is my issue I am sure this car has been over heated at one time I had to replace the cooling air bleeder and the cooling fans were unpluged. I have also lost 10 psi on the cooling system over a 24 hr time. The cylinders are dry no change in oil level. I have look all over the forum and have not found anything. I am planning on pulling the heads tomorrow. Any help would be great full.
Can any one please chimn in. I really do not want to rip every thing apart when I feel there are People with so much wisdom to help send me in the right direction if I am posting in the wrong place can you direct me where to go.
Thanks you for your Time

well, a couple of things, if you have excessive condensation (i.e. huge white smoke) coming from the exhaust, that's definitely blown head gaskets. If you're already pulling the heads off, send them out to be milled and you should be OK. These engines are notorious to sludging, so just make sure you change the oil every 2,000 miles and you shouldn't have any problems.
Thank you for getting back to me I wanted until this week to do the head gaskets. I am replacing the water pump seeing I have it this far. I have not seen anything sticking out on the head gaskets to point the finger at too say thats the problem. I did fine a mouse nest under the heads where would be the oil gallery on other motors. I am including a pict.

New to Intrepid but not new to working on cars just alot slower.
