Hello all. I own a 2001 dodge intrepid 2.7L se. I bought it with a bad engine and installed a 2004 2.7L with all the block and tensioner updates. I did switch out the crank sensor reluctor ring and the cam sensor reluctor wheel along with the wiring harness, EGR valve and tubes, and intake manifold. It fired right up first try and the AC even worked. I have been driving the car for a month now and the cooling fans stopped working. Diagnoised the issue and found the ECU was not ingauging the fans. The cheap ***** that I am went to a junk yard and found a 2002 intrepid ECU and installed it. Whalla the cooling fans engage when they are suppose to. One problem, now My AC dosent work and I am Getting a strainge code. I am typing the code exactly how it shows on my OTC Genisis scanner, "73 See Service Manual". I can not find this code in my Haynes manual or online anywhere. I am wondering If anyone can help me with this Thankyou all.

 

Maybe you should see page 73 in your service manual. jp! Does the engine light come on or did you just hook it up to see if anything came up? Try to use a different scanner or autozone. I don't know if your year will tell you a fault code on your dash, but I'd say its worth a try. Put your key in, without starting the vehicle, turn to "on" , off, "on" , off, and "on" and look at your mileage, that would be your fault code if this works for your year.

 

Yes the engine light is on. I did what you said with the ignition and I got to codes out of it. A P1684 battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts, and P0551 Incorrect input from power steering switch. I did talk to a tech at the local dealer and he said it might need an ECU reflash, espeaclly because the ECU was out of a 2002. Thankyou for the advice im going to check the power steering switch this weekend.
