hey i just turned 18 and my parents ot me a 00 dode intrepid wit a 2.7l im still in i scool as a senior and i got a ood job and a descent amount of money. i want to pimp my intrepid out a lil bit. i know its not gonna be the best but can some of you pros gimme a written list if improvements to make tis car as fast as can be and as tit lookin please please id be muc appreciate. Thanx

 

Get a different shifter if possible, a racing harness, new intake, racing seats, steering wheel and a turbo if available.

i suggest start with k&n air intake. after that see what you can do with the exhaust. it has alot of restriction on it. if you really wanted to you could make it dual exhaust because it starts with 2 pipes, one from each exhaust manifold. from there it meets in muffler 1 of 3, then there are 2 more down the line of the one pipe the original 2 are forced into. look for yourself, mine is 02 and that way, but same gen and all so it should be the same. if you want a cheap quick easy slight boost, just get the simple k&n air filter, it makes a noticeable different, so the k&n CAI would make it that much better. Ive just got the filter now, but these are on my list. because of money woes and the will for a good sound system, these might be down the line quite a bit for me.


Matt, i haven't been able to find a decent turbo for the 2.7, and how would racing harnesses and a new steering wheel make the car faster?

 

It wouldn't make it faster, just unique compared to other cars.

you can get more out of that engine, and that is what he asking. he isn't trying to make it compete with a viper, just get all he can out of the 2.7

Chase, no new alternator or capacitor for all that speaker equipment?

 

Okay, for one don't expect much out of the 2.7L it has a bad reputation for just being weak. As for other mods, those are all really good ideas for mods. Just please do not put big 20-22" wheels on it or a huge spoiler. That would look so dumb on that car; you would definitely be a down grading.

 

heres a list form another trep owner. the bulk of your list is gonna be cosmetic. The only other things i could add would be a 300m shifter,window switches,chrome door handles.
