Default 2000 Dodge Intrepid won't start..please help

2.7 engine in this...130,000 miles, was driving and it just died..if it sets for a day it will start for about 30 min but thats it and dies again. It will not crank over at all. The battery is good it was tested, starter is also good because it started when i left it setting for a day and switched batteries. Just put new terminals on..and still won't crank over at all. A clicking noise is coming from the relay box under the hood when i try to start it buts thats it. Fuel pump is kicking on like it should. Any advice would be great. My husband said something about a TCM auto shut off relay is what is clicking when we try and turn it over? He did switch out the relays and all were good also.

1 Battery check for voltage and Cold Cranking Amp
2 Check Alternator
3 Starter solenoid checks
4 Ignition wire to solenoid check

If you're getting just a click sound when trying to start then if the engine turns over after a few turns of the key to the run position, then the contacts (b+ to negative to starter motor) may be worn and not making connection to the starter motor. If the car died while your driving, then the engine was perhaps running on battery. Check Alternator as well.

Id definitely try the battery when its failing. I have seen them do strange things when they get old and the lead cells start to bow, especially when hot and/or under load. One other thought...see it the headlights dim/die when cranking ( or trying that is). The ASD relay would have no effect on power draw/consumption so this can aid in trying to determine where your malfunction lies. Nither does the ASD control the starter, only the spark and fuel pump(that I am aware of). Id lean toward the battery at this time though. Of cours as DD stated, your charging system may be faulty and needs to be examined as well. His list is a good springboard.
