Default reman 2.7 2400rpm hesitation

install reman. 2.7 in the car last week idles great and runs great but the motor hesitates at 2400rpm like it has a rev limit protection. put new cam shaft sensor in, but same results. will not rev above 2400 without breaking down, whether in park or diving? any ideals

I supose you could ck fuel pressure and pressure regulator to start. Id have to think a bit more but thats a good start/somthing that needs to be eliminated.

Is your year a vacuum controlled fuel regulator?

clog exhaust? that tend to keep RPM bog down. Maybe check compression too. U never know if the Reman Company screwed up their timing or something.

I looked it up and your year is only regulated at the fuel pump (that’s where the regulator is mounted). Here are a few other items to ck:

Ensure 58 PSI fuel pressure (if not done already)
Check for vacuum leaks at heads etc
Ck TPS and TPS circuit
Compression test (as previously noted)

I assume you do not have an engine code, but there can still be a possible sensor malfunction. The PCM may not trip code if the signal is beyond threshold range that its monitored.

What have you done/looked at already? Give a list and let us know.

Ok...ALWAYS troubleshoot the engine code first! Ck continuity between the sensor and the PCM. You nay have also installed a bad part. Work to fix the fault and you will probally be gtg.
