Default ABS light on, code 30, weak battery?

Just picked up a 2000 LHS (Intrepid sibling) last week that had been sitting for six months with a dead battery. After requiring a jump from a tow truck, I've had no problems starting the car in the mid-Michigan winter (single digits this a.m.), although I suppose it helps that I have a long highway commute every day.

The ABS light and the Trac Off (?) light have been on just about continuously. Yesterday I had the local brake shop replace a broken wire to the ABS sensor on one of the wheels. The mechanic cleared the codes, and I drove it home. When I got into my neighborhood, I tested the ABS on my snow-covered street. The ABS engaged, but the ABS and Trac lights turned on. They stay on until the car is turned off. When the car is restarted, they turn on after driving about 200 feet or so, and the ABS is disabled.

I took the car back this morning, and the mechanic said he had cleared the codes and road tested it yesterday. He put the scanner on and found code 30:
Pump motor circuit not working properly.

Code sets in cab determines pump is not running when commanded to, or is running when not commanded.

Cab selftest pump circuit at 12mph (or if brake depressed at 24mph) when vehicle is first driven after antilock stop.

Poss. loose or corroded terminals in pump motor circuit, short to battery (+), open circuit faulty pump motor or faulty cab.
The mechanic said he inspected everything and didn't see anything physically wrong, and suggested that a weak battery might be the culprit. The shop charged the battery for about 10 minutes and sent me on my way, but the light came back on again. Based on this, is the next best course of action to pull the battery out and get it tested? What kind of test would I be looking for?

Could a bad front-end alignment possibly cause this as well?
