Default antifreeze type

I bought a used 2001 intrepid with the dreaded 2.7 engine. I need to flush and change the antifreeze. My book says only use oat technology and the internet folks say use hoat technology. Who is correct and why do they differ? For sure I don't want to mess up the engine. Only has 52,000 miles on it.

I am not an expert, but OAT and HOAT are not the same. As I understand it OAT is what Dexcool is based off of. HOAT is what Chrysler used up until recently from what I understand Zerex G05 and Ford's Gold coolant has the same basis but the silica content is different. DO NOT BASE WHAT COOLANT TO USE OFF OF COLOR. "Universals" are based off of a modified OAT. My advice is to stick with MOPARs for the best results or Zerex G05 or possibly Ford's Gold coolant. I would stay away from OAT based coolants as mixing coolant types can have disastrous results.
