Default 99 intrepid electrical short

hey there I have a weird problem hear lately I noticed my cars gauges would stop working I could be driving down the interstate and all of a sudden my whole cluster would shut down as if the car was turned off its done it twice in the last 3 weeks which I found to be the fuse is blowing and today my fuel gauge decides to act all crazy and keeps go from empty to however much fuel I have in the tank
now my question
is there any semi easy way to see if my car has an electrical short somewhere?
I going on a trip in a few days and I don't wanna break down out of state

Take some extra fuses with you. If it's intermittent, you're going to have to isolate everything on that fuse. It may take several days to find it.

I don't know if you have a relationship with your dealer, but they may be able to get you a special rate for a rental to take.
