Electric Door Locks Squealing
Hello,
My 2000 Intrepid's door locks are screaming at me. First the driver's side door in back had a clunk when the electric door lock was activated, then the front passenger door started squealing. Now, ALL the doors are squealing when locked.
The initial clunking I described may have been ice forming on the locking mechanism, as we had freezing rain a few days before this occurred. It has since warmed up and the clunking has seized, but now I am contending with the squealing. I simply could remove the fuse, but then I probably would forget to manually lock the doors. Help! It's driving me nuts!
Thank you, in advance!
p.s. The interior lights still flicker on and off at will. Is my Intrepid possessed? Should I only wash it with Holy water?

Sounds like that ice did a number on your wiring and electrical. Is it more like a buzz/squeal kinda deal when you use your door locks. We have that problem and we need a new lock selinoid. The limiter in them go bad causing the shaft to go past the electromagnetic coil and that's where the sound is coming from.
