I just got a K&N performance gold oil filter, and 5 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic oil. I'll put it in the car on Saturday morning, and let you know how it goes!

That's not really a performance mod... it's just basic maintince with high quality parts. + it's disposable.

And, how can most of the CAI's on the market really be considered CAI if they just sit under the hood and have no airflow comeing in from outside the car?

And, how can most of the CAI's on the market really be considered CAI if they just sit under the hood and have no airflow comeing in from outside the car?

Because ideally they would get air from the front, grill, and with a heat shield keep the engine's heat from that cool air, but really they should be called Cool Air intakes not Cold Air Intakes.

If your car's setup prevents cool air from being pulled/forced into the intake as opposed to grabbing it from the engine bay then you as the owner should recognize the CAI will only allow better airflow and have little if any change on the air's temperature.
