Default 98 Intrepid Mirror issue

My mother in law is very computer illiterate so I am here to ask her questions. She has a 98 Intrepid and she thinks that a while back a rock must of struck her passenger side mirror. The mirror part is gone but all the black underneath is still there. I'll post the pictures here small and leave links to the larger images.

We don't think its heated. I looked and didn't find any heater controls for the mirrors. They are however powered for adjustments.

The dealership told her it would cost about $90-130 just for the part. Do you have any suggestions? Is there a way to just replace the mirror and have it reattached to the remains of it?

Just curious. Also are there any other cars with interchangable mirrors to the Intrepid.

Thanks.

i kinda had the same problem with my intrepid, but the good thing about them is that they are very easy to see around and such, so accually just drove with only my rearview and my driveside mirror because by the way i was sitting i only had to turn my head to check the blind spot on the passanger side.

thats only if she wants to save money.

to do anything on an intrepid is a bitch, i had to take that door panel off to get the remainer of my mirror off and when i got the door panel back on it never fit right again, i would suggest taking it to a pro to get it done, unless your experienced with doing things like that.
