Default 2001 Intrepid 2.7L idles at 4K p601 code

I have a2001 Intrepid 2.7L. I recently had problems with rough running. I had several P codes including 1st and 2nd fuel injectors open or shorted. I also had a P601 code (internal controller fault) but the engine still ran, just roughly (but drivable).I found the injector problem to be the fuel injector wiring harness which had been pinched badly under the intake manifold during a previous repair job. I repaired the wiring. Now when I start the car, it runs very smoothly, but only at 4000 RPM. I have rechecked the wiring harness, etc. but it won't slow down. It's not related to throttle linkage, it doesn't move. Throttle Position Sensor voltage is right at 5VDC off the plug so it appears to be getting proper voltage. The only code now showing is the dreaded P601 code. Anybody have any ideas? Do I need to replace the PCM or have it cleared at a shop? I would have to tow the car. I can't drive it (or even put it gear) at 4K idle. Thanks for any help!!!

Areset will not fix your malfunction. My guess, when the harness was shorted, you damaged the computer (only a guess, but it sounds logical..., I do hate to say it though). Good luck

Thanks for your response. I fixed the problem although still not sure what I did to make it go away. I had a couple of wires that weren't connected very good so I pulled apart all the wires I had repaired (all wires were to coils or injectors) and re-spliced all the connections. When I plugged it all back in, idle was perfect. Then I had to install a new thermostat......that's another whole nasty story. Thanks for your help!!
