'01 Intrepid sat for a few months, now it won't start
Just took my 2001 Intrepid out of storage (unfortunately, stored in a snowbank), and now it won't start. Took it to a local mechanic who looked it over, replaced the starter, and replaced the PNP switch in the tranny and still no luck. The mech doesn't know what's wrong and suggests that I have it towed to a dealer. Power is getting to the fuse relay, headlights, radio, etc., but apparently not the starter. Engine doesn't turn over at all. Any suggestions as to what could be going on? I'd like to avoid a costly trip to the dealer if at all possible.
You really need to trace the power on the schematic. A quick try would be the ASD relay. You can swap a new one in in a few seconds. As for the schematic, see Holy Grail at the top of the second gen fourm.
Ive had this problem where it wont start but power goes to everything else.... and my problem was worn out battery cables how i figured that out is by moving them back and forth making sure had a good connection then it started!
