Is tinting(using the spray) the tailights illegal?

98% chance yes. prob depends on the darkness. but cops will do what they want. I think its more showy

i know California law says you have to have a min. 2 red running lights, 2 "higher intensity" red brake lights, and two turn signals. It is pretty contraversial (did i spell that right?) on what color the blinkers have to be, but i have my reverse lights as my blinkers and have never had a problem!!! so as long as you comply to the strict a** standards of CA you should be fine!! Just dont go too dark!!

Well if you use rockblocker the lightly smoked flim for your tails its ok and if you use nightshade spray and dont put on that many coats its cool. Actually if the cops can see red your cool. I use to have nightshaded tails until I got me black led tails . I love tinted stuff. I have my sides and 3rd brake nightshaded .

I don't really know what the law is on tail lights since I have no plans of tinting mine. But if I was doing it I just wouldn't over do it. My car already draws enough attention...it doesn't need anymore.

If you want the stealth look and blacked out look I would tint your tails and 3rd brake and sides . Looks mean lookin on black rides.
