Default 3.0L Stratus R/t Engine....

I saw a Stratus on the highway the other day on my way home from school and there was a badge on the back that said 3.0L or something and a badge that said Stratus r/t so i got to thinking about it.... would the 3.0L Stratus r/t motor fit in a neon? b/c turboing a 3.0L engine could be a lot of fun.... the only reason i am asking is because i saw a Neon in Turbo, and it said the neon had a turbo'ed 2.4L Stratus engine in it..... does anyone know if it will fit?

Many people will get a stratus 2.4l engine and rebuild it with turbo innerds and use stock srt parts to boost it. I have never seen anyone try to swap a 3.0l engine in a neon let alone boost it. If you want a 2.4l a srt motor is obviously the easiest choice for a swap. But from what I understand if you can't find one of those getting a pt motor is the next best thing because it has the same mounts.

Theres not neary as much aftermarket support for the 3.0 as there is for the 2.4...plus the 2.4 is PROVEN as a cost effective, easy, and delivers good "performance" for our cars. I've heard of some 1st Gens with a 3.0 swap...but never any 2nd gens. As for the PT electronics, you'll be swapping out the entire wiring harness anyways so there wont be much "Neon wiring" left anyways...

if i did have the money, i would get a 3litre stratus rt engine, cause, look what you start with for power.... 200ish on motor , and if you had the money to do the swap, you could take a turbo manifold from a diff 't car and just fab the hell out of it, or you could even do a twin setup, i suppose you would be running out of room under there

well the thing is im not even sure if the 3.0L would fit to begin with but yea..... im betting with a pretty much completely custom turbo manifold and all that you could make 300hp easssssy! but still not sure if the actual motor would fit into the engine bay.... lol i think that it would be very very tight.....

If you got enough money you can make damn near anything work....there is a Pinto in my town with a ford 460 in it...needless to say the car has wheelie bars....YES i love 3.0 liters...my old 300zx had the 3.0 liter turbo and would beat stock 5.0 liter stangs...(my car was stock too by the way...)right when i got it paid off i was either going to get a paint job or throw alot of money at the motor when i wrecked it....the pics are on my myspace....www.myspace.com/kapitald thats my 300zx and it was awesome...a 3.0 liter with a twin setup is even better and in our small tiny peons would be the best setup of all!!!! IF of course you had all the money to custom fab everything....and -03neonrt- is right about the market support for the two motors...try to mod up a stratus and try to modd up a srt-4 see which one can go farther..
