towing with dodge neon

I read that the towing capacity on a Neon (not sure what year though) was 1,500 lbs. Not sure I would tow with a neon, at least one with an automatic but 5 speed maybe, keep it out of overdrive so you don't burn the tranny up and if it's a little trailer, don't load it too heavy.
I seen a Chevy Sprint towing a smaller Uhaul trailer, the guy told me he got 40mpg instead of the 50mpg they normally got. The best I got out of my Chevy Sprint was 52 on the highway. Man I miss that car now. Had to stick your foot out on hills but got great mileage. Just be careful with it and don't burn the brakes up either
