So i have a friend that is selling his 2000 dodge Neon for $500 but it has a hole in the engine block so i would have to get a new engine or get a new block. Or i can buy my old 99 Dodge dakota back that has been wrecked 2 times already for $2000. Wich one is a better buy? Also how much is an engine block or an enigine for a 2000 Neon?

i would buy the neon and throw a srt-4 motor in it....srt-motors will run anywhere from 3 - 5 grand

 

agreed. srt swap it. it will be some work though, so you wont have a car right away. the 00 will be a bit of work but would be well worth it. or you could always find a new 2.0 in a salvage yard fairly cheap. problemwise, a blown motor is much easier to deal with than a vehicle that has been in multiple wrecks (possibly alignment issues, bent frame, etc... you just dont know)

wow whoever won that motor is happy....thats a good price....yup and if you go for the 2.0 4 banger it would be even cheaper than the srt motor (of course)....but if you gor for the 2.0 4 banger try to find the high outputRT motor instead of the sxt 2.0
