Default Motor mounts?

So I made a thread a few days ago asking about motor mounts. I went to a mechanic today to get my motor mounts checked out. He said the one on the top is bad. I want to make sure of something before I go around asking on prices. Is there only one motor mount on the top, and then two on the bottom? cause he said there are 3. When I looked under my hood the other day, I saw the one on the left side, and is that the only one on the top? I didn't see any others. He said the one on the top was bad, and needed replaced. He gave me a price of $145 for parts and labor, but I'm still gonna call around and see if I can get anything cheaper.

no there are two.... there is the one you can see when you open the hood, then when you get under the car you will see another that looks just like the one on the top, the 3rd one however i am pretty sure is the tranny mount...... those do go bad every once in awhile... if i were you i wouldn't dish out the $145 i would go buy the prothane motor mount inserts for $35 give or take some sell for $25.... anyways get a set of those and install them yourself it is very very easy and i am pretty sure that there is an install guide on the forum somewhere to help ya out.... youw ill also have a choice of "street" or "race" type of inserts.... the only difference is that the race inserts are a bit stiffer than the street ones, well i hope i helped you save some money... and good luck

technically the two are called strut mounts. they are the same as motor mounts. there is the one that i showed you a pic of. the one directly on the bottom of the engine from it, and there is another actual motor mount in the front of the motor. that one is solid and will def not need to be changed. i have no idea how much a new one costs though.

So there is only one on the top then when you open the hood, right? I thought I heard him saying something about the top right, but there isn;t one on the right I didn't think? I'm so confused. From what I understand, there is the one like in the picture you showed me, and then one right underneath it as you're looking under the car?

But I will definitely be going to a mechanic, cause I don't know anything about cars.. so I wouldn't even attempt to replace the motor mount on my own.

well its the right of the car if you are looking from the back. passenger side if you want to get technical. if he says it is on the drivers side, then it may be the trans mount.
