So I had to take off the fart can that the girl that owned my neon before me put on, it was one of those $200 fart cans from meinike or what not, anyways they had welded it on, since i dont have a welder i had to cut and grind it the weld off so i could put my Vibrant dual exhaust on.... anyways where the vibrant slips over the exhaust pipe is where it is leaking from... it also looks like the pipe or the weld has frayed outwards.... and there is alot of black residue....and the only thing holding the vibrant to the pipe are two small band-type clamps similar to the ones you see on the hose of ur CAI. anyways what do you guys think i should do here... take the vibrant off myself and see whats goin on, or should i just bring it to a muffler shop and have them fix it up right for me...? i have the reciept of when the girl got the fart can installed do you guys think i can bring it to menike and B.S. my way to getting them to fix it for free? i could say that the weld they used rusted off and i ended up losing the can on the highway and just put the vibrant on in place of it... and la de da de da...? also why is my car running so rich that there is all that black residue? is this common for neons?

 

just take it to a muffle shop anf have it done right. then you know it right, good luck trying to bs your way out if you try that route

 

lol yea i mean it could work... b/c the weld on there was actually somewhat rusted when i got to it... so hey ya never know! lol

 

i agree on having the shop doing it..id beleive ur story.lol. iv heard about neons running rich before..not sure if its true but iv heard of people having trouble of an N/A running rich..and its been awhile since i changed me exhaust to the vibrant so i cant help ya there..good luck gettin it done

 

did you have yours welded in or did you just put some band clamp things on it?
