I'm looking for one without the alarm, any recommendations?
I have a remote start--got it installed. Just went to the local install shop which 'round here is actually called "The Install Shop" and they had to get a premium car starter, because if you have the remotes to unlock the doors, you can't have a remote start right next to it or the key--so it has to be protected against that. Mine works great and I love it, especially during the winters. If you think you're going to add an alarm on your car at any point, do it now with the remote start. I have the remote unlock that came with the car and the remote start and now I want an alarm, so in order to do that, I have to get it installed all together, so if you have any idea you're going to do it, do it now, it'll save you $$ in the long run. It works great and the ones with the alarm can work even further if you have the two-way AM transmitter. But if you go without the alarm, if that's what you're looking for--I know BestBuy has some good ones--I'm not sure of the brand that I have, if I found out I'll post it back but most of the time they're slightly difficult to install--when my car starts just the accessory goes on, so do the parking lights. Sometimes you can have it so your flashers go on and your accessory, you definitely want accessory so your heat/ac will go on.
Yeah its possible, but I think they're lying to you blocks unless your talking about a stock alarm, because I bought my Compustar 2-Way pager alarm, and added the autostart a few months later. With mine it is just like I started the car except the parking lights flash. I know I have mine setup where the car will die if you push the brake with out the key being in the spot right before the ignition would start the car. And here in AZ I love it because its already over a 100 degrees here.
Im also lookin into a two pager alarm and remote start in one to put in my 04 sxt . Should be real intersting to install it with my husbands help. Saves the cost of installing.
