Hey I have the crane 12 installed on my car and I was told the crane 10 grind would have been the better choice because my car is automatic and redlines at 6500. I know the 10 grind makes its power from idle to 6500 but the reason I got the number 12 grind is because my new pcm allows me to redline at 7500 which is where the number 12 makes its power, from 1500rpm on up. And you know how using first then second on an automatic you can make it redline, but would it be better for me to go ahead and get a number 10 and swap it out since I hardly ever take it from overdrive, and rarely ever go over 6500rpm, even when running hard? I really would hate to spend half an afternoon changing it and loosing a few ponies just cause someone told me to change it and not have any proof I would be better with a 10 than my 12. Please help me!

Im going with the crane 10 cause I also heard its good for an auto with all my newly mods. But the 12 is really nice also . So I would stick with that cam.

That has a lot of info. Based on that article, I would believe the 10 would be better for your application. Your best bet would be to call Modern Performance and Howell automotive and see what both of them have to say. Ask them if you're better off sticking the cam or moving on to other mods.

 

Yeah, ill give Gary a call first since he builds the neons from the ground up. This just goes to show you that bigger aint always better, at least that is what most people are telling me about the cam. I even heard that the number 10 had a little longer duration than the magnum cam! Of course all this is hearsay. You know how that is.
