does your engine sound louder than it used to? or is it harder to start?

Is your car stock?
I doubt it's the oil. Just make sure you change it when necessary.

Well, there are many reasons why a car could suddenly LOSE power.

1.) Exhaust leaks
2.) watered down gas
3.) Internal problems
4.) gunky oil (needs new oil)
5.) Heavey Loads...

etc etc.

Check and see if your car is throwing any codes: turn your car to acessories then off 3 times really fast and it will bring up your error codes.

If it is not that get your car to a garage if you are not mechanically inclined and/or look at the gas pump, lines, spark plugs, hoses, and filters.

The things you can do yourself is look for leaks in hoses and lines, check your spark plugs, and check out your airfilter. a bad air filter can cause poor performance and such.

Look over your engine, make sure you don't have any oil leaks, and check everything over.

If nothing seems to be a-miss it could be an internal problem, an ECU problem (in which case it needs to be re-flashed), or the gas pump.

*NOTE*

If you search all those things and still coem up with nothing, wait till you pump gas next time and do it from some one else. Watered down gas (especially in times like this) is a big problem!! So, before spending the money to get it looked at wait till you need to fill up. If it is still performing badly, take it to a garage!
