2005 NEON SXT GAS MILEAGE
First of all, the only thing he is on here is the section moderator. Second of all, while he is very knowledgeable and helpful he is by no means a "neon god". Third of all, try driving an r/t compared to an sxt. Something you'll notice is the trannys are different. The gear ratio is .72 for an sxt/.81 for an rt which would mean that in final gear the sxt will be at lower rpms then the rt at the same exact speed. Which keeping the rpms down is good for mileage. So how exactly is the r/t better for mileage airwolf? Because you have to put premium in it?
Yeah your one of the ones who thinks 5 speeds our the best rides ever. Whatever Im not going through this again who cares if your 5speed maybe gets what you say. I love my auto and happy with my gas mileage and a neon is a neon.An auto is just as nice as a 5speed. I have had a 5speed before and yeah the only cool 5 speed neon to me is the srt4 since I had an acr for sometime and yeah that took prem also and got not to bad of gas mileage as I thought it would cause of the turbo.
A neon IS a neon.
Your SXT-4 = Your ACR SRT-4 <---------They're exactly the same.
My car's auto and I hate it. (When) the tranny dies i'll replace it with a five speed if it isn't too much.

Hi y'all from Norman, Oklahoma.
I knew there had to be a forum for Neon owners.
Printing has one for my work, even my former haunted house has a forum.
We have a Suh-WEEEET 2004 Neon XRT and just drove from Spokane, Washington to Norman, Ok. Mileage was great, 35-45, but now my daily work commute of 50 miles combined hwy and city is only getting 25-30. I want to change the air filter, maybe check the plugs. But when I look under the hood, I go WTF! Where is all the stuff? It's just one black plastic cover. I'm an old time weekend mechanic and kinda know what I'm doing, but where do you start? Should I just go buy a Chiltons? Today's cars look like you can't do anything yourself but I really don't want to take it in to the shop if there's little things I can do.
Thanks!
