17 18 is the same you can drive daily with them theres no difference the difference is the rim is smaller with 17 you dont want to spend all the money ona suspension that you need to drag your ride to fill the wells 18;s with a two inch drop is nice go with the 18s

Is it just me or do the back wheels look smaller than the front on that red neon?

 

Well Im planning on getting sportlines with blues for the struts or go with the whole tokiko drop just depends on what size Im going with and what rims Im going with.

 

If the car is strictly show and you dont care about speed, ride quality, etc, then go with the 18's, if you plan on daily driving it to any extent then go for the 17's.

 

Hey 03 neon r/t what is the is the widest tire I could get on 17x7s without any problem . If Im going with 17s I want my tires to look as good as my rims for my shows and everyday use.

 

If you're driving to the shows and using the car as a daily driver as well, I'd go with 17's... Keep in mind we're in BFE Iowa, so hit one pothole and kiss those 18's goodbye.

And on a 17x7" rim, 205/40's would be about the widest the Neon would take without risking some rubbing issues. Take a peak at mine and see how close they are to the struts and suspension... it's kinda scary actually.

 

ThinkI will play it safe and go with the 17s since I will lower her pretty nicely . 17s will still work well for my ride at shows . I will go with the 205/40s also like you went with . Im going with the pirelli all season tires .
