My '03 Neon sputters and sometimes stalls (when the car has just been cranked) when the AC is on. It does not stall when the car is in motion, but it does sputter as I am driving if my speed is under 50 mph. Once I go over 50mph, it is usually fine. It will sputter just a little when the AC is off.

yea it is just a problem... why dont you just turn the AC off before you start the car.... but it sounds like the problem is somewhere in the accessory belt.... so you might want to check that out or have it checked out....

 

I had a similar problem end of last year... nothing to do with A/C, but also sputtering...

replace the plugs AND wires and it's been perfect ever since... (cost me less than $30 at the local auto parts store)... (make sure you have a long extension on a sprk plug rachet to get way down in the holes to get the plugs out and in)
