Woah... so wait... I can use an SRT tranny on my 04 se neon????
The bell housing bolt patterns on the 2.0 and 2.4 are identical...so yes, you can use the SRT-4 transmission .

Ok, one more question... what's all the parts that I need? I know there's a list on one of the forum on here... but I mean can I just get a SRT tranny and the rest of the stuff from a regular manual neon? or would all the other parts be needed from the srt as well? like the passenger axle (regular or srt?) what about the pcm? (regular will do or an srt?) Thanks again guys
The SRT-4 axles are the same length, unlike our axles which ae different lengths. So, you would need both axles out of the SRT-4, then all the additional parts like the transmission, shifter cables, pedal assembly (clutch/brake), clutch master and slave cylinder, tranny side motor mount from an SRT-4, shifter assembly and shifter base, and I'm sure theres some odd little parts here and there. As for the PCM, you wouldnt be able to use an SRT-4 PCM on our Neons, so I'm assuming you would just need a MTx PCM out of your year Neon.

Im getting pricing myself for a Regular Mtx swap.

I really want an MTx, and everytime I get in my car... I look at my automatic shifter and ask "why do you exist?"

lol... yeah, i'm searching for pricing as well... and I think aSRT tranny would probably be more expensive than a regular manual... oh well... if anyone know of someone who's selling their srt tranny or axles let me know!

If you got the SRT-4 tranny wouldn't you noticed a huge loss in accel?? Wouldn't the gear ratios on that be for a car with a 100+hp. I mean...the regular neons tranny ratios would probably top out around 130 right? I know the fuel cut-off it 118 but thats what it looks like. Wouldn't his car perform better with a tranny made for about 132bhp than a tranny made for 230bhp?

so i already have a MTx would a srt-4 tranny be a direct replacement? meaning i wouldnt need the axles or anything, just tranny right? And is that a good performance upgrade?

0.97 -- 0.97 -- 0.95 4th
0.81 -- 0.72 -- 0.76 5th
3.94 -- 3.55 -- 3.53 final
