Well the caliper is going to be connected to the knuckle with two bolts, remove those and the caliper will lift off, then from there its only connected by the brake line...

Screw that i'll just put use some tape and newspaper and mask off the areas so NO paint gets anywhere. I'm not going to risk screwing up my brake system.

My parents are bringing my srt struts this sunday so i'll do all the switch soon. I really need to get on painting my rims.

If you tape off your rotors really well so that no paint at all gets on them, you wouldnt have to remove the calipers...

Yeah the caliper painting kits ae for painting calipers . The paint is basically high temp engine enamel though, so if they dont have a color in kit form that you want, just pick out a can or two of high temp engine enamel, and a can of clear coat if you want it and your set. You'll also want some sand paper and things like that to clean and smooth the caliper surface so it looks nice.

Do you need clear for the caliper? i've already spent so much money on paint for my rims. I'll just get some yellow without clear haha.

Does the clear like protect the color?

Lets just say I've had my calipers painted for over a year and a half without any clear coat and the color is still very good. The clear coat will just help keep them "shiny" and help with cleaning and what not.

03 do you have to take the "PADS" off? or is it ok to leave them on and just paint the cailper?

Izero, are you planning on taking the caliper off? If your taking the caliper off to paint, it would be better to remove the pads while your painting as well, plus, it takes like 30 seconds to remove the pads from the caliper.
