Default Shaking

Once I hit 70 my steering wheel starts shaking. Gets worse as speed increases. The car still drives straight so I don't know if it would be the alignment or not. Any ideas?

sounds to me like either worn casters or cambers or maybe a broken belt in one of the front tires.if its a broken belt you should feel it at all speeds just at a different intensity. if its camber it will feel different when you slightly turn the wheel either direction, it should decrease when you put a little tension on it.

Doesn't sound like that. Right around 70 it starts to happen. I'll be driving straight down the road and it will happen, no turning. It's like the steering wheel is turning right then left really fast but it's barely moving so it seems like it's shaking.

mine does the same but it stops at about 80-85

I am told it's all in the tire balancing and/or the tires are not balanced/made for those speeds

I agree with Kal but just to be on the safe side and do me a favor and jack up the front and try to wiggle the wheels. there should be ZERO play if there is any you have a problem, tie rods ball joints etc. I had a shaking prob and it turned out i had a bad tie rod end. If you let tie rod ends go bad you can risk the wheel frying off at high speeds!

Mines got a bad tie rod and I have to install new motor mounts due to the accident which lucky for me I got some extra ones for 13 bucks from on here . All is going to be installed when I get my rims and tires . So yeah probably check your tie rod and motor mounts.
