Lets Talk Valve Covers.
So the first time I popped the hood in my neon, the fist thing that popped out at me was the dull black valve cover. I checked the official mopar site and found a carbon fiber cover for like $600. I wonder if there are cheaper better looking covers out there. And has anyone ever painted the stock cover before? It would be nice to have a different look.
Mancini Racing used to sell powder coated valve coves for $50 shipped but they no longer offer them (they come up for sae on Neon for sale boards quite often though). The stock plastic VC can be painted, but it cannot be powder coated. If you want the best look, find a 1st Gen SOHC valve cover or a 2nd Gen Magnum valve cover, they are metal so they will look better and can be powder coated.
I sand blasted my VC and found metal under the thick plastic spray on OEM coating... I was happy to find that! anyway i sprayed mine with 5 coats of spray paint and 4 coats of high temp clear.

I'm having tis same one powder coated red in a few weeks.
