Intake systems?
I had a K&N intake and realized that it probably wasn't a good idea to keep driving with it on. Where I live there are a lot of low lying areas that tend to fill up with water and I started getting really scared of Hydrolocking my car. So I looked around for a ram air and found a Weapon R and replaced the filter with a K&N. I haven't noticed any difference between the two and brand name really doesn't mean much to me anymore because what it really boils down to is the filter. For me my Weapon R witha K&N filter FTW.
I worked on fabricating my own short ram tonight but i noticed...there isn't any damn room for the tubing?
Between the size of the K&N filter, am I to expect 3-4 inches of piping for a short ram? wtf?

the one thing that no one mentioned is that the k&n is carb legal. it comes with the sticker to put under your hood, and the ebay ones or custom intakes are not carb legal. thats why the k&n is more. i have had both ebay and now have the typhoon and i would say go with the k&n. maybe it was mental but the metal that the ebay one had seemed cheap. but in the end it's up to you just make sure you have a good filter on what ever you choose.
((Some cold air intake manufacturers now include a built in hydro-shield, a piece of plastic that blocks water from entering the air filter. K&N also offers a "sock" called the "Drycharger", which prevents hydrolock.))
((Average compact sport cars with 1.8-2.2L motors can lose 1 to 3 miles per gallon while using an intake))
saw that on wikipedia... lame i kno
anyone got pics of there CAI
