Caliper Painting
I know I'm raising this post from the dead. But here's a tip for anyone doing this cheap modification to spice up the neon a little bit.
Get some Engine Paint from Autozone. The engine paint is actually cheaper than the caliper paint and the temperature is better rated. Why not? DO NOT GET A KIT. It's a waste of money.
Grab a wire brush and scrub the rust away on anywhere you are going to paint. Then grab a cloth/rag and some rubbing alcohol and clean thoroughlywhere you just scrubbed (any spots you missed that are still dirty, the paint will not stick, so do a good job and take your time!). Wipe away any dust off the surface of where you plan on painting. Order some pizza and finish it, then use the pizza box and cut the top part off, then cut a small U in the box and place it behind the whole rotor and disk or if you're doing the rear, behind the drums. It will block most of your overspray. Use some masking tape to cover any of the other parts you are worried about. And paint your heart out. Let it dry for a little bit, even throw a second coat on if you so desire. I usually do two coats and let it sit over night on jack stands. Then throw the wheels back on and voilÃ*!
Check my CarDomain for pictures of the painting process. If not, when I'm off of work, I'll upload them to this thread!
We should add this to the DIY sticky!

i bought the cheap $1 paint from walmart just for like...whatever. i'll go get that high heat enamel paint at autozone for 5 bucks once these get too ugly. I used an entire can on both calipers
