Default Transmission removal

Has anyone made or seen a diy forremoving the 41te? I have everything unbolted and taken off the trans, no hoses, no wires, nothing. I can pull the trans a good3 inchs away from the block. but can't get it to come all the way off. I seem to be getting hung upon the inside edge of the control arm mount. How much are cv axles for my car?
