hey guys i have a 02 neon with auto trans and here lately is been hard to shift out of park. any ideas, the dealer said it could be a motor mount or a trans mount but we all know how dealers are. thanks

 

I would add some motor mount inserts, tranny mount inserts (oh god) and change the transmission fluid...should fix the problem unless your clutch packs have gone bad

 

ok to check for blown mounts you need two people. open the hood and start the car. have one person standig on the SIDE of the car looking in on the engine. NOT IN THE FRONT and dont have anything around the car to be safe. have the other person in the drivers seat and put it in drive. now with your foot on the brake as well lightly press the gas. you shouldnt go anywhere, but if the engine jerks one way a lot, the mouts are bad. do the same in reverse.
