Rear Drum Brake Problems------PLEASE HELP
A little history: while driving rear drivers side shoe twisted causing the wheel cylinder to leak and a porptioning valve under the master cylinder to go out. After an expensive tow everything is new( valve, cylinder, and new shoes). Now my problem after the car sits for about 8hrs or so the rear drivers side brake locks up until I tap the brakes then it lets loose. It will continue to do this multiple times (5-6). another way I found to get it to unlock is to put the e-brake on. Took to 2 different shops nobody could find anything wrong with it. ANY IDEAS!!!!!!
i think someone mentioned in the other drum brake thread that you can take the drum over to autozone and they can shave it down so there's a few mm more clearance.
If you twisted a shoe then you may have bent/warped or gouged the backing plate causing it to stick on the backing plate. I would be very skeptical of this part.
