Default Cooling system leak?

OK, My daughters 2000 Neon just sprang a leak. We've had off and on cooling problems since we took delivery from my nephew. I thought I had it figgured out. Now I have a leak on the back dide toward the firewall and near the trans. Looked in my trusty Neon repair book and can't seem to find out where the freeze plugs are on the block. It's dark and I'll relook tomorrow but I'd rather have a battle plan. I don't seem to find any hoses in that area so that's why I lean towards freeze plug. Can anyone tell me where they are located??
Thanks,
scott

Make sure the line coming off the overflow bottle is not punctured and that its connected properly. Also, how much coolant is the car leaking?

I think it dumped most of it this time. I was 2 blocks from home so it didn't heat up. Seems to be comming from the rear of the block under the exhaust manifold. Really can't see much in there. If the freeze plugs are spaced the same on both sides of the block I'm thinking that's what it is. Just frustrating not being able to get an angle of sight to SEE it.

From what your saying it sounds like a classic case of a blown headgasket...

Yikes!! I had thought of that but was relying on the knowledge of those who have driven a few more miles in the Neonthan I. I did pull the dipstick to check for water. None there but maybe I'm just lucky it blew out instead of in.
Thanks for your input!!
