u know it really is kinda sad how u 2nd gen ppl are all about the look of ur cars. my car has a dented fender thats rusting, is always dirty, and has two holes in the trunk lid where the ( useless ) stock spoiler was, but at least my car isnt a slug on the line, and at least its old enough that im not afraid of hurting it, so i actally drive my car. unlike 2nd gen wannabee's who just pretend to. i meen seriously even the srt-4 works out better once u get rid of the body and put its soal into a 1st gen. the srt swap into a first gen is like lypo. for a fat chick... she finally gets the body her sweet little heart deserves. and me as the driver... well im like the dude who throws her into my backseat and shows her the dimensions that really matter.
p.s. if u guys werent so afraid of having some real function and losing the flair you would find that removing the pas. front seat not only reduces weight but also make for extra room. and if u got a 5 point harness u can tie her leg up to the seat with it!!!!!!!!!!

What I drive mine all the time shes my daily driver and my show ride mild for now until next yr. I have over 102,000 miles on her now and she still drives like shes brand new . Yeah Im out for show but I have a little go also. Most on here are also both show and go mods and all drive everyday. We again dont need you 1st gen guys coming over here and bash on us we sure dont go over there on 1st gen section and bash on your neons.

ORIGINAL: 99 Neon

only serious tuners mod out a automatic
This is a very true statement... the only problem is your trying to be a smart *** when you should be doing you research. serious tuner!? funny huh!? how serious? 14-17 second neon? Fast cars run automatics... are these guys serious tuners?

how about this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMH6ct6KATQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy_G_rimIks

or this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PSsDcOdd28

or how about this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzVRxRNFi_8

i'm sure you get the point

All in all you all need to chill out. We all drive freaking neons... we are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to USDM tuner cars. No one here has any place to running their mouths. If anything its the 1st gen that ruined the reputation of the neon. damn head gaskets.

Well when they first bought their srt4 or supra and bought it with a manual transmission instead of automatic both their times would be faster on the track

and i have a 1999 which is a first gen neon and it comes with a MLS (multi-layered steel) HG. So not all first gens have bad HG.

This is funny, we have one saying his 1st gen rust bucket beater neon is better than a 2nd gen immaculate neon

and I will take this saying from another 2nd gen neon owner

"I'd rather have a bunch of chicks around my car because it looks nice, than a bunch of guys because it's fast"

May it be true 1 gens are faster and lighter but their value is next to dirt, they look like ****. I have not seen a nice 1st gen in a long time. and to top it off their owners are cocky, crooked, misguided, misinformed, arrogant, ignorant, blubbering idiots, Etc. and I realize I've been redundant, that was for a reason. If I have missed ANYTHING please add to this post but I believe I missed much.

EDIT: I remembered this. the reliability of a 1 gen is so poor that they ruined the rep of 2 gens. I wouldn't get a 1 gen even if it was all I could afford. I'd rather walk my fat *** everywhere than drive one of them

thank you, and go back to your own side

the monitary value of my car may well be worth less than that of yours, but u couldnt buy my car from me for $10,000. the time and effort ive put into it makes it (almost) priceless. ive done all the mods myself. and by that i dont mean that i paid someone to do them for me, I did them. and to further that, ive even done alot of my own fab. so yes my neon is better than yours... in my oppinion. now to be real. im really just flicking u guys ****. in all honesty, i do think my car looks like **** and wish it looked nicer. however i like the 1st gen platform better because it is a better platform for racing so far as i have and can see. i see no advantage to the 2nd gen. exept that they look nicer. yes i do think they look nicer, but im all go and no show. so i choose 1st gen. also i came over here just to stur **** up. its funny, and that might make me an ***, but thats half the fun of talking cars, to start ****. the sucky thing about forums is that ur not here to race me and attempt to prove me wronge.[&o]

if you polish a turd, it's still a turd. and though it may be priceless to you, it's still a piece of junk to anyone else

EDIT: I didn't bother to read the post.. but I just did and the spelling made your post null and void. tsk tsk not only is the car a POS so is your spelling

greatest post ever... I'm not going to argue, especially with ignorant people. name one person that bought their srt-4 automatic. lol You obviously know nothing about competitive drag racing.

Whether or not your car came with a MLS or not, it doesn't make others think that our cars are junk because of the earlier problems. It doesn't matter to tem if Dodge repaired the head gaskets under warranty. And if out of warranty tey fixed it for $50. The problem stuck and stuck even through the second gens, even tough its not true.

tranyinstaller,
just because you don't take of your car or care what it looks like makes you no better or your any better than anyone else. What i get from your post is that you are too lazy or don't have enough money to fix your car to make it look good. I put 80,000 miles on my 2003 in less than two years with no visual mods. no tint, no rims, no stickers, no wings... I drove it, it was fast, and it looked good. i washed it every day and it shined and it still would have put a whoopin on most of the 1st and 2nd gens on this site.
