It is my understanding that the performance PCMs eliminate the governor on the car. But if you have a stock pcm it usually cuts you off at 120ish.

 

I've hit the governor in my car at about 133. It's pretty fun

 

If you have a govener set at 133, I want your car, every other stock neon's is set at about 120-122.

 

I think i could hit a hundred, if I am going downhill, being pushed, and drafting a semi.....[sm=sigh.gif]

 

I guess it's set at 133 cuz it's an R/T. I don't really know though[8D]

 

Could be, I figured you had a performance pcm. I have never heard of it b4 though.

 

fastest iv gone is around 115 in my 97 neon SE but i cant get pat there it accelrates toooooo sloooooow but i usually drive around 90-100 on this I-275

 

Theres no way that you took off your govener, there are no goveners on todays cars. What it is, is an electronic speed limiter, which in some cars, is part of the ECU. I do not know really where it is on the neon though. Goveners are a mehcaincal device that Phyiscally cuts down on the fuel rate in the engine when the car comes to a certain speed. On an ESL the ecu detects the speed of the car, and then slow down the rate of the fuel by the fuel injectors. ESL is much more effective at slow down the car or truck than a govener on that car or truck.

 

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point in going that fast. Over time it will ruin your engine and plus, if a cop spots you doing that **** you're ****ed royally. I'm fine with going 65 in a 55 but 120 is ridiculous.
