We are talking different generations of vehicles here... I really enjoyed my Neon but compared to newer Dodge models it's technologically dated... Seven years is a lots of time for technology nowadays: dual VVT engine offering more power (26 hp more than the 2.0-litre in a Neon), CVT transmission, etc.

For the styling, I much prefer the Caliber's agressive style to the anonymous Japanese sedans or tasteless GM and Ford models.

Plus I like the huge cargo space the Caliber offers, although the trunk in a Neon is really big for a car that size. The Caliber's high driving position, interior space and vehicle dynamics make you feel like you are driving a much bigger vehicle than it really is (the wheel base is in fact a little shorter than the 2nd generation Neon). The headroom and legroom is really good (I am 6'2").

I much prefer a crossover vehicle like the Caliber to a SUV (large or small). In Europe the "mini monospace" vehicles have been around for many years, the Mercedes B200 is just one example. We seem to be catching up with our friends living across the Big Pond for car design.

And yes, it seems we are coming back to the good old station-wagon cars. Who knows, we might soon see the wooden panels too!

 

eww, if u had the money for the used 07 calibe, shouldve just find urself a better car, like umm the avenger

 

I like the Avenger/Sebring platform but I needed cargo space due tomy evenings and week-end activities!
Sedans are not good for me.

I was fed up having to put stuff through the back doors because it would not get in the trunk's lid opening. The Caliber offers all the space I need.

IMHO they took an american legend and destroyed it's image by making it a 4 door

 

I guess Chrysler/Jeep wanted to show something to GM/Hummer and tell them they did not own the "off road"vehicle scene! Large Jeeps existed 60 years ago, so they are just back with a revenge. I remember when I was a kid we used to go to a cottage during the Christmas holidays, and the landlord used to pick us up at the train station in his green Jeep Wagoneer. we could sit 6 people in there, plus the luggage! And it was a real 4-wheel drive Jeep.
